4 types of explosions create supernovae

The collapse of supergiant stars or collisions between two white dwarfs could lead to the formation of.

Supernova is created when a star explodes. Images from NASA's Kepler train show that the explosion occurred in four ways.

  1. 1. White dwarfs and other stars can start to rotate around each other. If a white dwarf sucks too much material from the star, the explosion occurs.
  2. 2. When two white dwarfs approach too close, they will collide, leading to an explosion.
  3. 3. Super giant stars die when their cores become too large, using up nuclear fuel. Gravity caused it to collapse, creating a giant explosion.
  4. 4. Scientists think there is a rarer way such as bright stars that evolve rapidly, spewing out dust and gas, eventually exploding.
