A special way for NASA to commemorate the dead astronauts on the Moon

The sculpture named "Astronauts fell" was astronaut David Scott, commander of the Apollo 15 mission on August 1, 1971. Next to the aluminum board is a small statue that symbolizes astronauts who have sacrificed in space exploration missions.

The director of the Waddell gallery in New York, Louise Tolliver Deutschman, came up with this idea in hopes of bringing art into space. After that, Belgian artist Paul van Hoeydonck officially started work on the work.

The project was done secretly and was only published after the Apollo 15 spacecraft completed its mission and returned to Earth safely.

However, afterwards, Van Hoeydonck announced that he did not know that his work was used to commemorate 14 Russian and American astronauts. He also insisted that he would not agree to leave his work alone on the Moon if he knew its intended use.

Despite the controversy on the sidelines, the statue located 384,000 kilometers away from us is still a work full of humanity and respect.
