AIDS will make wings for bird flu

An expert has warned that the avian influenza virus will mutate into a form that can be spread from person to person if an infected person becomes infected with bird flu.

Professor Robert Webster said the human body with AIDS (a weakened immune system) will be a good shelter and "training" for the bird flu virus against the human immune system.

Mr. Robert said the evidence at the hospital where he worked (the weakened immune system of cancer patients not only could not fight off the regular flu but also a place to copy a lot of flu viruses). A similar phenomenon may be true for AIDS and avian influenza patients.

This statement was made by Mr. Webster at the Council on Diplomatic Relations in New York. Webster said the risk of bird flu could easily be spread from person to person once the virus reached East Africa, where the prevalence of HIV / AIDS is very high.

Currently the avian influenza virus has not yet reached East Africa but this will be the final point of the migratory birds. Experts of the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will come to this area as soon as possible.
