AirAsia aircraft exploded before falling into the sea

Indonesia's rescue agency leader said the initial fragment analysis showed that the QZ8501 plane had exploded before sinking into the sea.

"The pressure-reducing cockpit and before the pressure is adjusted, the plane explodes and sinks into the water," said Suryadi Supriyadi, an Indonesian director of search and rescue.

Today, divers scoop out black boxes from the sea floor. They also found the second black box but did not bring it to shore.

AP quoted Supriyadi to confirm that the second black box was positioned after the rescue force put the first black box ashore. The second device is buried in heavy debris.

The first black box is a data recorder that is a standalone device, storing all the latest information about the flight, through recording dozens of parameters, gathering information multiple times per second. The other black box is the cockpit recording device of AirAsia aircraft. Experts will take 2 weeks to download data in the black box but can access the information in just 2 days if the device is not broken.

The head of Indonesia's traffic safety committee said the black box will be transferred to Jakarta immediately for experts to analyze the data. According to Channel News Asia, the analysis will take place tonight and is expected to have results in two days because the first black box remains intact.

Before Mr. Supriyadi's speech, not all Indonesian officials agreed with the assumption that the plane exploded before falling into the sea, because the evidence was not enough."There is no data to support the hypothetical aircraft explosion before falling," Reuters quoted Santoso Sayogo, an Indonesian National Traffic Safety Commission investigator, as saying.
