Catastrophically rare, cats grow eight more

Milwaukee animal rescue center in Wisconsin, central America has found a binary cat named Daniel with up to 26 fingers.

Each cat normally has 18 toes, 5 toes on each front leg and 4 to each of the hind legs. But Daniel's cat was identified with a rare genetic variation called polydactylism that made each of its feet grow two more fingers.

Daniel was found in Milwaukee on January 1, 2011 and animal relief workers are helping him find a new home.

The Center has now raised about $ 80,000 for Daniel's cat and hopes to raise it to $ 120,000 on December 23 to help Daniel live to the end of his life without having to struggle.
