This theory is reinforced by Russian satellite data, which also shows that this hole appears exactly where the pingo land was previously located.

Even with some rocky craters far away and no sign of subsidence, Ruppel admitted that it could also be an additional effect of a methane gas explosion. Accordingly, when pingo dissipates, they put great pressure on the underground natural gas fields. This pressure caused explosions and the result was the death of pits.
