Millions, including elephants, buffaloes, ostriches, lions, giraffes ., happened to be found across southern Sudan, possibly the largest migrations of animals on the planet. .
Such giant beasts are thought to have disappeared after decades of civil war in this land, and for the last 25 years, there has never been a survey of wild life here.
After southern Sudan was granted autonomy by the government in 2005, scientists can conduct aviation investigations in the grassland on wildlife.

"I have never seen such a scene, even in the famous Serengeti plain (in Tanzania)," said J. Michael Fay, a conservationist of the Wildlife Conservation Society.
"It's like the ground is shaking , " Fay said. He estimates that this migration must be at least the third largest among terrestrial animals, perhaps even the largest.
