Earth will be destroyed in April 2036?

Russian astronomers recently claimed that an asteroid called Apophis might collide with the Earth on April 13, 2036.

However, American scientists have reassured them that despite the possibility that ' the guest does not invite' Apophis collides with the Earth, but the rate is very small.

Apophis was discovered by American astronomers in 2004, with a diameter of more than 240m, flying in orbit very close to the Earth, the nearest time is only about 32,000km from where the species lives.

In the future, Apophis will have many " surf " over the Earth, if during the operation under the influence of some external force, Apophis has the ability to deviate from orbit and collide with the Earth. So astronomers named this asteroid the name of the god of destruction in Greek mythology.

Since its discovery, Apophis has caused controversy as well as concerns. In 2004, NASO scientists predicted that Apophis would collide with the Earth in 2029. Now it is Russia's astronomers' turn to say that the collision time between Apophis and the Earth is 2036.

However, according to the latest information on NASA's website, the ratio of ' intimate contact ' between Apophis and Earth in 2036 is only 1 / 250,000.

NASA also added that although Apophis did not collide with the Earth by 2036, before or after 2068, Apophis was still capable of colliding with the Earth, but this ratio was lower than 2036, only 1 /330,000.

In the case of Apophis in orbit that poses a risk to Earth, NASA will use the necessary measure to force this asteroid to change its orbit.

To change the trajectory of an asteroid, NASA said, there are many methods, the simplest is to use a flying device to crash into it and NASA has successfully tested this method in 2005.
