Fate of 4 planes falls on October 31

Hundreds of people were killed in catastrophic plane crashes that occurred on October 31, 1994, 1999, 2000 and 2015.

1994

On October 31, 1994, the ATR72 carried the American Eagle number 4184 , carrying 72 passengers from the Indianpolis, Indiana state airport to O'Hare Airport, Illinois (USA).

According to the AP, because of the bad weather, the plane cannot fly directly to the city of Chicago. Air traffic control requires the aircraft to maintain its position near an area called the LUCIT intersection , above a height of 3,000m. While waiting for the journey to continue, it encountered an icy rain (water droplets that were liquid but very cold and freezing when touching any surface they encountered).

The defrosting system is broken. The bandage on the wing made the plane wobble, losing its altitude before plunging into a soybean field near the city of Roselawn, Indiana.

All passengers and crew were killed. This is the most catastrophic accident that the ATR72 aircrafts cause.

1999

On October 31, 1999, the aircraft carried the serial number 990 of the crashed Egyptian Air airline while it was traveling from JFK airport, New York City, the US to Cairo, Egypt. It fell into international waters and killed 217 people on the flight.

According to the BBC, the Americans concluded that Egyptian vice-captain Gameel el-Batouty had deliberately made the plane fall.

A former pilot of Egypt Air said that the engine of el-Batouty might be because a leader of the company, also on the flight, reprimanded him for inappropriate sexual behavior.

However, Egyptian investigators believe that the accident occurred due to malfunctioning motor.

2000

About 23:17 on October 31, 2000 (local time), an accident occurred with SQ006-branded aircraft of Singapore Airlines. He took the wrong runway when taking off at Chiang Kai-she airport, Taipei City.

According to AP, investigators said, SQ006 made the journey from Singapore to the US and transited in Taiwan. At the airport, the pilot was ordered to take off from the runway 05L but mistakenly turned to the runway 05R which was closed for repair.

The heavy rain made the pilot not recognize a construction vehicle parked on the road. The Boeing 747 of Singapore Airlines crashed into construction vehicles, causing a loud bang. 83/179 people on the plane died.
After the accident, the flight route from Singapore to the US was SQ006 changed to SQ030. Colorful paint of tropical style of the aircraft to change its traditional paint color.

2015

On October 31, a Kolavia airline flew 224 people in distress while traveling from Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh resort to St. Petersburg. Petersburg, Russia.

RT said the plane fell on the Sinai peninsula, Egypt and was completely destroyed. After the aircraft took off, the captain informed the air traffic control station that the aircraft had technical problems and requested a change of flight route. All 224 people on the flight died.
