Fears are available in the subconscious of humans
Whether you know from the beginning, we have brought with us many fears .
Those of us also have a particular fear - it may be fear of the dark, fear of loneliness, or simply fear of an animal like spider, rat . That feeling is generally derived from from life, from the horrific experiences that have happened to each person.
But few people know that, in fact, there is a fear that existed even after the human beings did not cry out. Through evolution for millions of years, inside our bodies have formed structures, which regulate some things that people will certainly fear .
1. The fear of snakes
In the myth of Adam and Eva talking about the birth of an ancient man, the snake is the one who instigates Eva to eat the forbidden fruit in the paradise garden. Since then, it has always been considered a symbol of evil, always seeking to harm people.
Do not stop at the cultural aspect, if you look from a biological perspective, snakes are also a threat to our humanity to be afraid. The reason is that in the world, up to 250 species of snakes can kill people with a single bite. In India, an average of 250,000 snakes occur each year, of which up to 20% die.
Not surprisingly, most of us are very afraid of snakes
In fact, human biological studies have proven that people are afraid of snakes since they are born crying. As a result, in the process of evolution, the body adapts by creating many organs and mechanisms that make it easy to identify this enemy.
The structure of the human eye is quite special, allowing us to detect spots, patterned fruit shaped cells, diamonds more easily than circles and triangles. This is exactly the shape of the outer skin of the majority of snakes in nature. Many experiments by scientists have shown, we can completely identify a snake's camouflage despite seeing only a small part of its body.
In addition, experts pointed out that neurons responsible for controlling people's fears are also more sensitive and irritable. That is the reason why we only need to go into the deserted, solitary forests, we are always in the mood to worry, often look at the ground for fear of encountering poisonous snakes.
2. Sharp objects
Roses are a favorite of many people, but few people realize that their spines and other sharp objects make us all afraid.
Gai rose is a fear that haunts human ancestors since ancient times
To prove this statement, expert Richard Coss and his colleagues conducted a very interesting experiment. On one road, they planted two different species of trees on either side of the road: Yucca Gloriosa - a tree with sharp and lizard-shaped leaves - a tree with round leaves. After that, Richard recorded a scene of people walking and jogging through that path.
The results of the video analysis showed that most pedestrians and joggers tend to shift to the Yucca Gloriosa instead of the rounded leaf.
Yuca Gloriosa tree .
Is the tree more lethal than dangerous? According to Richard, the answer is the opposite. The sharp blade shape gives the body a natural fear reaction that is difficult to recognize. When faced with this fear, people will approach, observe, analyze to better understand the danger and more easily avoid them.
3. Jaguar
Jaguar is one of the best assassins in nature. At speeds of up to 150km / h, they are 'hunters' that can kill prey with just one leap. Perhaps because of that, they are the terror of our ancestors in the primitive time, so much so that fear is inherited to this day.
Just like snakes, people's natural reaction system is very sensitive and alert to jaguars. A study has been conducted with newborns and toddlers who have just demonstrated the above conclusion.
Accordingly, the children participating in the experiment were placed in front of four jars, each with a different pattern paper, including a bottle of jaguar skin pattern paper.
As a result, the babies are almost excited by the 'jaguar jars' and constantly poke them in there. When people let the bottle roll, they almost stopped and pulled their hands immediately.
Jaguar has a strong stimulus to the fear inside every human being that we don't know
Experts explain that the fear of potential jaguars has caused babies to find ways to investigate and test whether it is a danger or not by poking their hands in the vial. Then, when I saw the moving jar, this made them think that it was the real jaguar, so it just reacted like that.
4. Eye contact
Have you ever shuddered every time you look at your beloved cat's eyes that glow in the dark night? If so, don't worry, because that's a normal thing. People from birth have suffered from 'fear of eyes'.
Have you ever been terrified to see this eye?
Human behavioral studies have shown that newborn babies under 36 weeks of age have unusual reactions, showing fear for the eyes. When they see strangers, they often draw their heads, their bodies suddenly stiffen and close their eyes.
Another study on monkeys also produced similar results. In monkeys there is also a special nervous system that makes it easy to distinguish, identify objects through the eyes.
The same thing was seen in monkeys
In experiments, it was proved that wild monkeys discovered jaguar faster if they could see directly the eyes of the newspaper instead of other parts like themselves, hands, feet . For them, The eyes evoke a sense of fear, stimulating the reaction as well as the activity of the brain to help the monkey easily identify potential enemies.
