For the first time, the planet has 4 suns
Astronomers have discovered a planet whose sky has four different suns. This is the first time such a planet has been found.
Notably, those who found the planet were two American volunteers using the website Planethunters.org. They saw the light dimmed when the planet moved in front of its parent star. Later, professional astronomers used the Keck telescope in Hawaii to verify and confirm this discovery.
Planet PH1 has four suns and is 6 times larger than the Earth
Named PH1 , the planet is identified as a giant 'air ball' that is 6 times larger than Earth and about 5,000 light-years away . 'You don't need to explore too much before feeling really strange when there is such a system,' said Dr. Chris Lintott, Oxford University.
'All four stars shining on the planet create a very complex environment. But PH1 still maintains a stable trajectory. This is really confusing, making this discovery even more interesting. Obviously this is not what we thought of , "said Lintott.
When asked why the planet still has a stable orbit despite being pulled by gravity from four other stars, the doctor said: 'There are six other planets around those stars and the distance between them. The planet with these stars is quite close.
So I suppose, this shows us that planets can form in the inner part of toroidal dust disks. Those planets are getting closer and can find a stable orbit there. This could help explain the formation of planets elsewhere '.
