There are two naturally hatched golden falcons in Glenveagh National Park in Donegal province, but a young bird died five days later. Presently, conservationists are anxiously waiting to see if the other bird can continue to grow.

The reproductive golden falcon in Glenveagh was last in 1910. The species was extinct in Ireland but then reappeared in Glenveagh six years ago thanks to conservation efforts.

The director of the gold falcon conservation project Lorcan O'Toole said he was delighted to see the golden falcon hatching in natural conditions. This breed usually spawns in mid-March and 6 weeks after the egg will hatch.
