Earlier on January 16, Yusaku Maezawa shocked when he tweeted publicly that every girl could sign up to be his companion on a space trip. In addition to finding a female companion to the Moon, the billionaire also recruited many other positions for his crew in flight to space.

Maezawa's plan to find a partner quickly received much attention. Japanese online video streaming site AbemaTV said it had received more than 20,000 applications for billionaire girlfriend Yusaku Maezawa.

However, Maezawa has requested to cancel this selection program for personal reasons . 'In me right now is a lot of mixed feelings. The thought of having more than 27,722 women, with serious intent and courage, took the precious time to apply to make me feel extremely regret when informing people about this selfish decision ' , Maezawa write.

'I understand that I have disappointed many people. I apologize to everyone, from those who applied to all AbemaTV employees involved in the production of these actions. I really want to apologize from the bottom of my heart, '' said the billionaire who has a net worth of 3.6 billion USD.

This is not the first time Maezawa has made such a decision before the showy plans. In 2017, the online fashion retailer Zozotown founded by Maezawa once offered millions of free skintight costumes.

According to the company's recommendation, this outfit can help customers measure their own body measurements so that they can order clothes with perfect fit.

However, more than a year later, Maezawa bitterly acknowledged the plan was a costly failure. The company was soon forced to completely shut down operations in the US and Europe.

Zozotown's stock price also plummeted and caused Maezawa to leave the chair in September 2019 after selling the company to Softbank Group for about $ 3.7 billion.
