They also earned 4% more than the guys who only tried to live with their partners, according to a survey of more than 12,000 men, conducted by the team of University Bielefeld (Germany). The topic asked is the number of family members, work status, number of hours, income and time spent on housework. The survey also takes into account differences in age, education and work experience.

Experts say the gap may be due to men being more motivated to work after marriage.

"Surveys show that men are less satisfied with their income after marriage due to the increasing demands of family life, such as paying for a home, buying furniture, dealing with family expenses. This is the motivation for them to try harder and lead to higher salaries , " said DailyMail experts.
