Meteors bring 'the origin of life' to Earth

Meteors have brought to Earth the phosphorus substance, an extremely necessary element for the formation of life on the Green Planet.

Meteors brought phosphorus, an essential substance for life, to Earth.

This is the result of an international research group, led by American scientists, after studying samples taken from the Earth core in Australia, Zinbabwe, West Virginua, Wyoming and Florida.

Geology professor Matthew Pasek of the University of South Florida said that during the Hadean and Archean centuries, two of the first four centuries in Earth's history, many meteorites hit the Earth, bringing phosphorus to the Left. land. Phosphorus, when applied to water, creates prebiotic molecules that originate on Earth.

'When the phosphorus on this meteorite combines with simple organic combinations, it can produce biological molecules, just like what we see today.'

Scientists say they have not found any source of phosphorus that can produce enough quantities of phosphite to act with water, producing prebiotic molecules as mentioned above. However, the amount of phosphite salts a lot on meteorites, enough to regulate the chemical composition in the ocean.
