Russian astronaut Oleg Artemyev recorded the scene of the Moon setting during his work on the International Space Station (ISS). The short video he shared on Twitter on May 4 and attracted a lot of attention.

In video, this natural satellite seems to move quite quickly, unlike when viewed from Earth."The moon is setting. Just a little longer, it will touch the atmosphere," Artemyev said during the recording. After "exposure" to the atmosphere, the Moon quickly disappears without actually touching the edge of the Earth. This "disappearing Moon" phenomenon can only be seen from the low Earth's orbit.

The video has not been changed and shows the true speed of the Moon when viewed from the ISS station, Artemyev said. The Moon seems to move quickly because the ISS station flies at very high speed, about 7.66km / s.
