New skin remedies for severe burns
Treatment for patients with grade 3 burns is very complex while leaving scars that are not aesthetically pleasing to the patient. Now, American researchers say it is possible to restore natural skin to damaged areas.

Research by scientists at Johns Hopkins University in the latest issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (USA) said hydrogen gel , a major compound from water and dissolved solution Dextran, a drug-free solution, or any biologically active ingredient, can stimulate the growth of the skin rather than scar tissue in the lesions of patients with grade 3 burns within 21 days.

Sharon Gerecht, head of the research group, said that hydrogen peroxide has the potential to help new skin cells grow with hair follicles, blood vessels and oil glands.
Scientists believe that the physical structure of the hydrogen gel can help cells grow at the same time attracting spinal cord stem cells into the bloodstream, leading them to form skin cells. and blood vessels. They know that injured cells easily penetrate and dissolve the gel, allowing the blood vessels to form rapidly to then support the development of new tissues.
The low cost of hydrogen gel production, therefore, can be produced on a large scale and is used to treat skin sores.
More trials will be conducted on animals before they are introduced to humans. However, the gel is not considered as a drug, so it is more likely that it will only be accepted for use within a few years.
