Opening the world's first aerospace airport

The world's first commercial space airport has just been opened in New Mexico, USA, yesterday.

Spaceport America spaceport America , built by British billionaire Virgin Galactic Richard Branson. Many guests attended the opening ceremony of the airport yesterday, including governor Susana Martinez and astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

According to AP , Virgin Galactic company hopes to conduct test flights at the end of 2012 and start commercial flights soon after. The company is still waiting for a commercial license from the US Federal Aviation Administration. More than 450 customers bought space travel tickets, of which 150 attended the opening ceremony of the airport yesterday.

Spaceport America has a 3km long runway and includes a spaceship, control center and tourist preparation area.

It took Virgin Galactic six years to reach consensus from New Mexico officials about the construction of the airport. This is considered a great milestone on the path to make the dream of cosmopolitan tourism a reality.

Director Branson and his two children will be the first passengers to fly into the air."We want real testing before handing it over to astronauts," he said.

The ticket price for a space trip lasts two and a half hours is $ 200,000, with about 5 minutes of non-weight feeling experience and then watching the earth from the air.
