Research proves that lazy people are often smarter

American scientists discovered laziness in physical activity associated with people with high IQ.

According to the International Business Times, new research from scientists at the University of Florida Gulf Coast shows that lazy people are also the smartest. According to the findings published in the August issue of the Journal of Psychological Health, less intelligent people do not come up with many ideas and thus become easily boring. Instead of sitting around and wondering, they are often active.

In the study, scientists examined psychology to assess 60 undergraduates at Appalachian University in Boone, North Carolina, USA to determine their level of interest in deep thinking.

Half of the students are defaulted to "thinkers" and the other half are in the "lazy thinkers" group . The classification is based on the results obtained after the students complete the cognitive needs test.

Next, each student was asked to wear a watch bracelet for 7 days to record their activity week. This device allows the team to monitor the movements and activities of 60 students, while collecting analytical data.

After a week, researchers synthesized results and discovered groups or thinking much less active than lazy-minded groups. However, at the weekend, the activity level of the two groups is almost the same.

Todd McElroy, the lead author of the study, expressed concern that the high intelligence index with laziness will lead to a series of negative effects on the body. "Smart people should be aware of their less active tendencies as well as understanding the harms of less activity. From then on, people or mental activity can become more active to ensure health, " concluded McElroy.
