A team of archaeologists at the University of Alabama in Birmingham led by Professor Sarah Parcak, an Egyptian expert, used satellite imaging technology to identify archaeological sites since 2003.
As a result, they discovered 17 pyramids disappear, and more than 1,000 landfills and settlements thanks to an infrared scanner that detects changes in material density beneath sand layers caused by human architects. Create highlights even if they are covered with dust, sediment and sand.
Currently, two pyramids have been excavated, the remaining ones will be discovered in the future.
