Snakes can hear people talking

It has long been known that snakes do not have ears but still have hearing. Scientists have uncovered the secret, explaining this phenomenon.

Snakes have no inner ear like humans with ossiculum and normal fibrous cells as well as no eardrum. Instead, their inner ears are connected to the jaw bone. The jaw collects vibrations from the ground to and into the inner ear. The snake has heard that: They hear what vibrates through the ground.

According to Russian site Ntv , the team of scientists at Aarhus University (Denmark) went further. They found snakes that can hear music. They experimented with many ways on the python regius, the big python living in Africa. Thanks to the electrodes, they identified the activities of nerve cells, connecting the inner ears of pythons to the brain.

People hang the bells on the python lying down, emitting sounds of different frequencies. Thanks to the sensors mounted on the python heads, the python's skull can perceive vibrations in the air like the ability of the auditory core in one's inner ear. In other words, python hears all the sounds transmitted to the skull.

Thus, python not only hears but steps people on the ground, but also the conversations of people. Python is a genus in solid family. Scientists have not yet answered the question of whether all 3,000 species of snakes have that ability or just the special ability of pythons and relatives of this giant snake.
