The male elephant trampled the female elephant
A 7-ton elephant struck and killed a female elephant half the size of yesterday at the zoo in Israel, right before the horrors of witnesses.
(Photo: Whdh.com) Safari conservation park officials near tel Aviv said they could not stop the 33-year-old Yossi male elephant from attacking the old Atari elephant - 46 years old. Yosi forced Atari to lie down and trampled the miserable elephant to death.
"Unable to understand the Yossi, he grew up from a child next to Atari and they were very friendly," said Yigal Horowitz, a veterinarian at the park. "Sometimes they are short or tiny, but never fight as big as this time."
Elephants are hierarchical animals in the herd, often visiting places where other animals in the herd are buried after death. However, scientists are increasingly concerned about the high level of violence in this giant animal.
Mr. Horowitz said the zoo will determine Yossi's fate after investigating the cause. For the time being, another female elephant, who also has a high position in the herd, is expected to take the lead.
