The world's largest battery powered solar boat
Having a carrier-like design, Tûranor PlanetSolar has become the world's largest solar-powered vessel.
Tûranor PlanetSolar is currently the world's largest solar powered ship. It has just completed its journey around the world to encourage the use of clean energy around the globe.
Tûranor PlanetSolar started its world cruise from the port of Monaco on September 27, 2010. The world's largest solar-powered boat has stopped in Miami, Cancun - during the UN Climate Conference - and the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific.
Tûranor planetsolar ships worth more than 12.5 million euros, were installed more than 500 m 2 of solar panels to provide electrical power for the two motors. The maximum speed of this ship is about 26 km / h. Tûranor PlanetSolar's capacity is 40 passengers.
