Why chimp is 4-8 times stronger?

The group of American researchers has discovered the reason for chimpanzees to move faster and more flexibly than humans.

In the 1920s, evidence and investigations by biologist John Bauman showed that chimpanzees were about four to eight times healthier than an adult.

However, subsequent studies prove that chimpanzees cannot do the same work that requires energy like humans.

In the study published in PNAS, Dr. Matthew C O'Neill of the University of Arizona and colleagues analyzed the chimpanzee's muscle activity documents, then concluded that the average animal is strong. more than 1.5 times more human than in drag and jump activities.

Initially, scientists hypothesized that chimpanzee muscles could produce more force, be able to contract more quickly, thereby creating a short-term force.

Dr. O'Neill and colleagues examined this by directly measuring muscle fibers taken from frozen chimpanzees. As a result, they found that "there is no difference in muscle contractile properties in humans and chimpanzees".

However, they found a difference in the length of the muscle fibers . Accordingly, the muscles of chimpanzees are longer than human muscles , and the distribution of muscle fibers is also different.

The team thinks that chimpanzee muscle growth can be formed during their climbing and branching due to survival instincts.

Meanwhile, in humans, shorter muscle fibers allow us to increase tolerance. This is closely related to human evolution, in which our ancestors had to travel very far distances.
