According to CNN, one of the most notable UFO research projects of the US Air Force is called Blue Book. The project is based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohia State, northeastern United States.

John Greenewald, a UFO enthusiast and running a large website specializing in UFOs in the US, argued that the documents, albeit giant, were just the tip of the iceberg.

For the past 15 years, Mr. Greenewald has taken advantage of the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to write thousands of letters requesting the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Security Agency (NSA) and The Department of Defense Intelligence (DIA) provides information about UFOs.

Greenewald provided about 5,000 requests and was rewarded with hundreds of thousands of pages of UFO documents, according to CNN.

According to documents obtained by Greenewald, the Blue Book project began in 1947 and ended in 1969. The project ended because "there was no threat to national security".

According to these documents, Blue Book has not found any concrete evidence that UFOs have technological power far beyond human level.
