20-year-old international student took the opportunity to fly into space
Conserving the study program in Australia to return to Vietnam to fulfill the dream of conquering space, Vu Thanh Long was chosen as the sole representative of Vietnam to the US to train astronauts to fly into space.

On the evening of October 27, the announcement of the second Vietnamese to fly into space took place in Hanoi. Attending the program were Ms. Ton Nu Thi Ninh - former Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, Trung General Pham Tuan - the first Vietnamese and Asian people to fly into space.
21h20, Lieutenant General Pham Tuan announced that the second Vietnamese who had the opportunity to fly into space was Vu Thanh Long, 20, a student of Engineering - Economics at one of the Australian universities.

After more than 6 months of searching, with more than 20,000 applicants, the program "Ax - Find the 2nd Vietnamese flying into space" has identified 11 excellent candidates. They have to go through a national challenge with many tough physical requirements, communication skills and English ability to win the opportunity to enter the top 3 to participate in the interview round. Dinh Huy - a 26-year-old boy who graduated from Macquarie University has achieved many athletic achievements, has good physical strength and ability to solve pretty sharp problems. Nguyen Hoai Nam (22 years old), a key student pilot of Vietnam Airlines and Vu Thanh Long (20 years) of Engineering - Economics student in Australia is the 3 excellent candidates.
Talking about memorable experiences in the selection, the future pilot Hoai Nam reiterated the challenge of aerial orientation. For men it is a very different experience when sitting on a plane because it is directly exposed to the wind, there is something a bit stressful, risky but happy to see the beautiful view from above. For Vu Thanh Long, the challenge in the final interview round is the most difficult and pressureful.'It is very unfortunate when nearing the finish line,' Long said.
Long is also the contestant who impressed many Lieutenant General Pham Tuan. To fulfill the dream of conquering the universe, Long decided to reserve his studies and return to Vietnam to participate in the selection.

'The contestants are all wonderful people. In you, you have a dream of discovering new things, discovering a burning space. I believe, with that enthusiasm, determination, no matter which field you will be in later, you will also achieve high results' , Trung General Pham Tuan shared in the program.
As a pioneer in space exploration, Trung advised 3 candidates, in addition to will, determination, need knowledge to well implement that determination. After this selection round, the only representative of Vietnam will come to the United States to participate in a training in the global space camp with candidates from 75 other countries. Here they will have to overcome tougher challenges to be chosen as astronauts into space.
Actress, singer Ngo Thanh Van - the ambassador of the program is proud to mention 3 final candidates. Earlier, 'female beating' was very worried that Vietnam could find a person flying into space because of the difficult challenges to overcome. Ngo Thanh Van himself in the first selection round has experienced these challenges on his own.
