7 Wondering what the world once collapsed will look like if it survives to this day?

7 wonders of the world - this phrase surely you've heard at least once. However, few people know that there are actually many different wonders lists at the present time, like the New7Wonder "New World Wonders " list.

The "original" of this list of wonders is called "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" , dating back to the 2nd century BC by the Greek writer Antipater, including:

  1. Statue of the Sun in Rhodes
  2. Great Pyramid of Giza
  3. Babylon Hanging Gardens
  4. lighthouse of Alexandria
  5. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
  6. Statue of Zeus at Olympia
  7. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

These 7 works are chosen because they represent the perfection, richness, and immortality of mankind. The number 7 represents the number of planets discovered at the time, plus the Moon and the Sun.

However, at the present time, the Great Pyramid of Giza is the only of 7 wonders that still exist today. The rest have been destroyed for many reasons, both natural and human.

But do you ever wonder if these works still exist, what do they look like when placed in today's modern context? To answer questions, a group of experts funded by Budget Direct has gathered information - including locations, historical descriptions, materials, sizes . and from there builds 3D models of their images in the modern world.

1. Statue of the Sun god in Rhodes

According to the description, this is a 32m high bronze statue, built on 2 pedestals about 15m high in the Rhodes port of the Greek island of the same name in the period 305 - 304 BC.

Historical documents show that the statue was built standing on both sides of the port, so that boats could pass between the two statues. However, some historians believe that this is just a baseless rumor that happened in the Middle Ages.

By 226 BC, an earthquake had caused the statue to collapse, and from there it was never rebuilt.

2. Babylon Hanging Gardens

This can be considered the most mysterious of the seven wonders of the ancient world, because no one knows its true location. The historical documents of Babylon do not mention anything about this garden, nor are there convincing evidence.

Because of that, many historians have argued, thinking that is the garden just a fictional product of the writer? However, some archaeologists believe they have found traces of hanging gardens in Iraq today, designed like a mountain.

And in short, based on the descriptions, we have a garden model hanging right in the picture below.

3. The Great Pyramid of Giza

Over more than 4500 years, the Great Pyramid still stands firm and becomes one of the most attractive places for tourists in Egypt.

Completed around 2560 BC, the pyramid was the tallest man-made building in the world, until the Lincoln church was built in 1331 after CN - that is, the next 3,800 years.

4. Lighthouse of Alexandria

Built in the period 284 - 246 BC, the remnants of this lighthouse were first found in 1904, at the port of Alexanra in eastern Egypt.

There is no data showing the scale of this project, but it is estimated to be about 135m high - also one of the tallest buildings in the world for centuries.

5. Tomb of Mausolus at Halicarnassus

The mausoleum was built for Mausolus - the governor of a province of the first Three-Word Empire. With influence from Greek style, Near East and Egypt, this is really one of the beautiful "sobbing" works in that period.

However, a terrible earthquake in the 12th-15th century caused the tomb to return to dust.

6. Statue of Zeus in Olympia

This is a statue that all admire, because it is obviously nothing more impressive than a 13m tall gold and ivory statue, carved in Zeus - supreme god at Olympia.

This statue was placed in the temple of the famous Zeus architect Eleans, built in the mid-5th century BC. But in 426, the temple was burned down after a fire.

7. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

The Temple of Artemis has been "rebuilt and rebuilt" three times during 7 centuries. The first is after being harassed by Herostratus - a scheming man who wants to find a reputation by destroying the temple. After being rebuilt, the building was destroyed by Goths when the city was attacked.

The last time the temple was destroyed was after the European War. They leveled to the foundation, and that was the only thing left of the building to this day.
