90kg black carp caught in China

Chinese fishermen caught the giant black carp at Lake Wan Island, Hangzhou City.

Pulling the net on October 18 to the surface, the group of fishermen in Hangzhou were surprised to see the giant black carp. CCTV News said the fish weighs 90kg, 1.75m long, equivalent to an adult.

This is the heaviest and longest carp discovered to date at Van Dao lake. A fisherman asserted, with this large size, just by a tail swing, the fish can knock down and unconscious an adult.

Fishermen name the fish "Kingfish" and transfer it to a breeding facility. However, the fish died several hours after being arrested. The reason why the dead fish is still unknown. Specialists speculate, it may be injured during the time of being caught and pulled to shore.
