The trip lasted 16 days, over a distance of 2,500km, through cold areas from Russia's Novo base to Antarctica. According to Ossevoort, this is a very difficult journey.
"A lot of emotions. I feel very happy. It feels really amazing when I have done this and come here" , Ossevoort shared via satellite phone after arriving in Antarctica.
According to AFP, Ossevoort moved by tractor through rough terrain and freezing weather with an average speed of 10km / h. The most difficult thing about the trip was when she had to drive for hours and couldn't go faster than the speed of 0.5 - 5km / h.
The adventurer began her trip in 2005 and took 4 years to drive from the Netherlands to Cape Town in South Africa. Here, she missed the train to Antarctica. Returning, the mother of a 10-month-old child started writing books and kept on hoping to conquer.
With support from Massey-Ferguson and some other units, Ossevoort has fulfilled the dream. On her journey, she traveled alone through Africa, but was assisted by a French mechanic Nicolas Bachelet arriving in Antarctica. They hope to return home for Christmas.
