American spacecraft reaches the edge of the solar system

Data from Voyager1 devices showed that the number of large charged particles collided with the ship increased sharply. This is a sign that Voyager 1 will soon fly into interstellar space - its most important mission.

Voyager 1 is flying at 17 km / sec and the distance between it and the globe is about 18 billion km. With that distance, the signal from the spacecraft to Earth after 16.5 hours.

In the past three years Voyager 1 used its devices to explore the "wind zone" in the universe. It is an area containing high-energy particles from the sun and interstellar regions. The charged particles escaped under solar winds at speeds of up to 1.7 million km / h, but when it came to "windy regions" , their speed decreased markedly. The measurement results of the devices show that the number of colliding particles with the ship tends to increase gradually over the past three years, but last month the number of particles flowed dramatically.

The number of charged particles is one of the three signals that NASA uses to calculate the time the ship crosses the boundary of the solar system. The sharp increase in the number of particle streams means that the ship is about to enter the interstellar space.

Voyager 1 was launched on September 5, 1977. Voyager 2, another spacecraft, flew to space on August 20 the same year. The initial mission of the two ships was to explore the Jupiter, Tho, Hai Vuong and Thien Vuong stars. They completed this mission in 1989.

They then flew towards the center of the Milky Way in two directions. Their nuclear reactors will stop producing electricity for another 10 to 15 years. After the reactor ceased operation, the electronic equipment and broadcasting of the two ships will 'die'.
