An additional 84 Siberian tigers were born

China said that since March, there have been 84 Siberian tigers ( photos) born in the northeastern region of the country. This is good news because it has somehow pushed the risk of extinction.

Mr. Liu Dan, an official at the Animal Feeding Center in Heilongjiang Province, said all the tigers are in very good health. He also added that there are currently 13 pregnant mothers and before October there will be about 20-30 more babies born.

It is known that this feeding center was established in 1986, currently raising 750 Siberian tigers and intending to release 620 of them back to nature.

In addition to the Siberian tiger, this species is also known as tiger Amur, tiger Ussuri or Machuria tiger and is listed among the top 10 endangered species in the world. Currently in nature there are only about 400 Siberian tigers, of which about 20 are in China and the rest live in the easternmost of Russia.
