Animals can disappear forever
Excessive illegal hunting or deforestation can push many species of animals to the brink of extinction this year.
Amur apricot blossom was hunted mainly for feathers. This is considered to be the largest cat (the animal in the Chi Bao belonging to the Cat family), the rarest and most dangerous in the world. They live along the border areas between the Far East of Russia and northeastern China.Today, only about 30 individuals remain in the wild.(Photo: Wikicommons)
Sumatra is the smallest Asian elephant species. The number of elephants has decreased by 80% in less than 25 years because forests have been destroyed, the environment has become narrower and the conflict situation in Sumatra, Indonesia. There are only about 2,400-2,800 elephants alive.Male elephants are relatively small in size, but hunters still kill elephants for ivory and illegally trade. This is also the reason for the gender gap and the ability to maintain the breed is decreasing.(Photo: Wikicommons)
Javan rhinoceros is one of five surviving odd-toed animals of the Rhino family.Hunters kill rhinos to get horns and consider this a way to make medicine.A population of only 35 currently lives in Indonesia's Ujung National Park.(Photos: Wikipedia)
Dolphins are also called "giant pandas" under water. This intelligent creature is one of the most famous species found in the Yangtze River, China.Overfishing, declining food sources, water pollution are factors that make the number of species only 1,000-1,800.Yangtze river dolphins, relatives of them, are declared extinct in function, meaning that there are only a few individuals but cannot reproduce.(Photo: Wikicommons)
Leather turtles or turtles are the largest sea turtles and the fourth largest reptile after three species of crocodiles. The number of turtles has been severely reduced in recent years because of over-hunting, egg theft, habitat loss and the expansion of coastal areas.(Photos: Wikipedia)
The western plain gorilla is killed for meat.Small gorillas are caught and raised like domestic pets.Ebola epidemic has also caused a 90% decrease in gorillas and chimpanzees in Minkebe, Gabon forests.(Photos: Wikipedia)
As one of the world's rarest marine animals, California dolphins are on the verge of extinction when there are less than 100 left. One out of every 5 dolphins is caught in mesh-covered nets, which are used to catch totoaba fish.(Photo: NOAA)
The Siberian Tiger was dubbed the "Lord of the Taiga" , otherwise known as Amur tiger, Manchu tiger. They are hunted to serve the needs of traditional medicine in China and sell in the black market.Hunting, mining, forest fire, deforestation or limiting legal regulations are threatening the number of species, only 400-500 in nature.(Photos: Wikipedia)
Mountain gorillas live in the Virunga Mountains (the three borders of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo) and Bwindi National Park in Uganda.Hunting, destruction of habitats, epidemics and coal production are the causes of the decline in the number of species.(Photo: Wikicommons)
Sumatra orangutans are disappearing due to forest fires, the development of palm oil, illegal logging and other agricultural activities. They are also hunted for meat and captivity.Only about 7,300 orangutans live in the wild.(Photo: Wikicommons)
Black rhinoceros was killed for horns, for meat or for entertainment purposes. They are considered an important source of revenue for tourism in many African countries.Today, efforts to conserve this rare animal are also under the impact of changing habitats and hunting. The demand for rhino horn trade, especially in Asia, is increasing.(Photo: Wikicommons)
