Astronomy parties in 2013

In 2013, followers of the sky will enjoy colorful parties with outstanding astronomical phenomena such as eclipses, eclipses, meteorites, the reunion of planets.

Year of the solar eclipse

According to experts, 2013 is the year of eclipse and eclipse because people on earth have the opportunity to admire two eclipses and three eclipses.

The first solar eclipse this year will be the annular eclipse that happened on May 10. The total eclipse range is observed in a narrow strip of 171 - 225 km wide and extends from Australia, to the Pacific islands such as Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island and Gilbert Island. Partial eclipse will be observed on a wider area including: Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Pacific. Unfortunately, the Vietnamese people cannot observe this interesting phenomenon.

The second eclipse is a "solar eclipse" on November 3. This is a rare phenomenon because in many times a solar eclipse has a solar eclipse. It is called a solar eclipse because during the moon shadow sweeps on the surface of the earth, there is a place where the total solar eclipse is observed, while some observes the annular eclipse.

For this hybrid eclipse, the total solar eclipse and the annular eclipse will be observed in a narrow strip extending from the North Atlantic to Africa. The area on the Atlantic Ocean at the beginning of the eclipse phase will observe a solar eclipse, while the next eclipse will be a total solar eclipse.

A partial solar eclipse will be observed in a large area including: North America, the Atlantic Ocean, parts of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Like last solar eclipse, Vietnamese people did not have the opportunity to observe eclipse this time.

Year of the lunar eclipse

The opening eclipse for 2013 is the partial eclipse that will occur on April 25. This eclipse was observed in a large area covering half of the globe, including Africa, Europe, Asia, Indian Ocean and Australia. The Vietnamese people can observe the whole phase of this phenomenon.

The second eclipse is the half-moon eclipse that occurs on May 25. This eclipse will be observed in a wide area including the Americas, the Atlantic Ocean, most of Africa, the southern Pacific Ocean. Vietnam cannot observe this phenomenon.

The last lunar eclipse in 2013 is the half-moon eclipse that occurred on October 18. Areas such as the Americas, Atlantic Ocean, Europe, Africa, Asia (including Vietnam) observed this phenomenon.

Beauty of "neighbors"

The planets will continue to shine and display beauty in 2013. This is a great opportunity for followers of the sky to use telescopes, cameras to admire and save interesting images of the neighbor of the earth.

On April 28, Saturn will reach its orbit where the distance to the nearest earth of the year. This is an opportunity for us to observe this lovely planet with the bright rim like a young girl's brim. If observed with the naked eye, Saturn will shine and be one of the brightest stars in the early summer sky with shimmering golden light. Also to admire this unique rim, we need to equip a telescope with moderate magnification.

On May 28, the two most brilliant planets in the sky are Venus and Jupiter will wave together on the western horizon before sunset. The distance between the two planets is only 1 degree. Not far away, Mercury, with the nickname of the mysterious detective of the Solar System also appeared. Normally, because it's near the sun, the planet's highest position in the sky is only about 28 degrees. In addition, Mercury also moves quite quickly in the sky and is often sunk into the sunset and sunrise, so we rarely recognize this talented detective.

On August 27, the planet is named "king of the sea" , Hai Vuong is in orbit where the distance to the earth will be closest to the year. This is an opportunity for us to observe this blue planet. However, because Neptune is far away from the earth, we must use telescopes with a large magnification to see this planet.

Next is on October 3, Uranus, the eighth planet of the Solar System will be closest to the earth of the year. However, to observe this planet we must be equipped with powerful telescopes.

The meteor party

Beautiful meteor showers always bring excitement, thrill and anticipation for the people of Vietnam and the whole world. Coming back, nearly a dozen of the most glorious meteor showers and other meteor showers are the highlights of the 2013 sky.

Large meteor showers like Quadrantids meteor shower peak at night 3, dawn on January 4 with a predicted meteor count of 40 tracks / hour; He Tien meteor shower (Perseids) peaked on the night of August 13 and dawn on August 14 with the number of meteor stars predicted to be 60 tracks / hour; The Trang Si meteor shower (Orionids) peaked on the night of October 21, October 22 with a number of meteor stars predicted to be 20 tracks per hour; Leonids peaked on the night of 17th and 11th of November, with the number of meteor stars predicted to be 40 tracks / hour; Geminids peak at the night of the 13th and 14th of the morning with a meteor number predicted to be 60 tracks / hour.
