Blue sunset on Mars surface
NASA's Mars exploration vehicle captures the setting of the Sun and emits light blue light on the red planet.
Curiosity car made by NASA sent a unique blue light image, Newsweek reported on November 29. Curiosity landed on August 6, 2012 and has continued to perform this planet research task.

"I like the sunset photos, like watching the scene sink in dark light areas, when light and streaks of color spread out in the atmosphere," Damia Bouic, an expert in image processing from explorers Mars, share.
Blue light in the picture is not due to editing, Bouic said. Although dubbed the "Red Planet" , the sunset on Mars will have a bright color , even when viewed with the naked eye. The Sun is completely unchanged. However, the setting of the setting sun looks different when viewed under the atmosphere of Mars.
"This color is formed by microscopic dust particles of a size suitable for blue light to penetrate the atmosphere more effectively . When blue light is scattered by dust, it will be closer to the Sun than the others. Another light color: The rest of the sky will bring yellow to orange because the yellow and red light spread all over the place instead of being absorbed or concentrated near the Sun, " said Mark Lemmon, atmospheric scientist at Texas A&M University, explained.
Curiosity expedition vehicles were originally designed to perform the mission of exploring the Martian surface for two years. However, scientists have twice extended this task because the car is still resistant to harsh environmental conditions on Mars.
The same situation happened with Opportunity, another NASA-built expedition vehicle. Opportunity is the most durable probe on Mars when it was designed to operate for 90 days but ended up lasting 13 years.
