China investigates the case of suspected bird flu
On November 14, the World Health Organization (WHO) said China is investigating three cases of suspected avian influenza in the country, including one death.

This week, WHO will send a team of experts to Hunan province in southern China to investigate three patients with pneumonia that China has excluded due to bird flu infection. All three live near the site of bird flu. One of these three patients is a 12-year-old girl who died.
Tests confirming or denying bird flu in these three patients will be published at least within a week, said Roy Wadia, a WHO spokesman in China.
Meanwhile, the Liaoning provincial government, which destroyed about 10 million poultry, said preliminary tests excluded bird flu in humans, although a female worker in a chicken farm here is suffering from Unexplained pneumonia.
To control bird flu spread in China, millions of poultry have been killed. The country has also begun a mandatory bird vaccination plan.
