The unmanned spacecraft is expected to carry out China's first spacecraft mission with Thien Cung -1, a laboratory module launched in September, also from the Tu Tuyen Tuyen launch pad.

The spacecraft and boosters, the -2F Truong Trinh missile, have been upgraded, were delivered to the launch pad this morning, on a 20m wide track.

The launch pad is located 1.5 km from the assembly and testing center, so the transport takes nearly 2 hours.

Within the next few days, the launch center will continue to test the spacecraft with the missile, installing propulsion before launching in early November.

The assembly, testing, and transport processes are carried out when the spacecraft as well as the rocket are placed vertically.

Shenzhou-8 is capable of pairing with Thien Cung-1 spacecraft both manual and automatic.

According to Lu Jinrong, the chief engineer of the Launching Center, Thien Cung-1 is currently working well in orbit and all equipment and testing goes smoothly. This module is also available for pairing tasks.
