China's first comprehensive environmental monitoring satellite
Gaofen 5 will provide important data to help China monitor meteorological environmental protection and resource exploration.
China successfully launched Gaofen 5 - remote sensing satellite using super spectral imaging technology capable of comprehensive environmental monitoring. The satellite is launched into orbit using the 4C Chinh Tung rocket from the Thai Nguyen Satellite Launch Center in Son Tay province, at 2:28 am Wednesday in Beijing time, according to Xinhua.
China successfully launched Gaofen 5 satellite.
Gaofen 5 is the first Chinese-developed satellite to monitor air pollution . Satellites automatically analyze and reflect air pollution in China by monitoring pollutants, greenhouse gases and aerosols (aerosols - colloids of solid particles or clear liquid droplets). air).
This comprehensive environmental monitoring satellite can also detect continental water, ecological environment, rocks and minerals, providing important data and high accuracy in environmental protection, meteorological monitoring and natural resource exploration.
Gaofen 5 is capable of collecting spectral data from ultraviolet rays to infrared radiation with long wavelengths. This is the remote sensing satellite with the highest spectral resolution of China. It is equipped with six advanced observation devices such as shortwave infrared spectral cameras and greenhouse gas detectors. Satellite can analyze the composition of materials through super-spectral imaging technology.
Gaofen 5 was developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Group (CASC) and is expected to be operational for 8 years. The launch on May 9 is the 274th task of the Truong Chinh boosters.
