Chinese spacecraft set a record in the Moon for the longest time

The research ship named China 's Hang Nga 3 has set the record for the spacecraft to remain in the Moon for the longest time.

On December 14, 2013, China's "Hang Nga 3" spacecraft landed on the moon. This is an extremely important milestone of the country's space science. Before China, only the United States and the former Soviet Union did this successfully. So far "Hang Nga 3" has had more than 2 years working on the Moon.

However, the "Hang Nga 3" ship still has more points than the previous two spacecraft for the time spent in the Moon when it had more than two years of working in this body. Even "it seems that Hang Nga 3 will continue to work," said Ye Peijian, a Chinese scientist.

"Hang Nga 3" is the spacecraft working the Moon for the longest time.

To be able to operate long, "Hang Nga 3" has a "hibernation" mode to save fuel. Scientific devices do not have to work continuously so "life expectancy" is increased. So far, Chinese space science scientists say astronomical telescopes and other survey devices are still working well.

Observing the Moon from Earth or satellites is believed to be unable to fully discover the celestial body. Because there is a part that is obscured by gravity that makes devices inaccessible, however, landing on the Moon helps research and data collection easier.

According to the plan, China will bring the "Hang Nga 4" probe into the dark part of the Moon in 2018. Further, China wants to bring people to set foot on this object in 2020.
