Decipher the mystery of the Earth's inner core

Geologists found that the Earth's core contained a separate core structure, with crystals in another direction.

The research team from the University of Illinois, USA, and colleagues at Nanjing University, China, uses seismic waves (created by earthquakes) to sweep beneath the surface of the Earth. They apply data collection technology not from the initial earthquake shock, but from the earthquake resonance waves. Information is recorded by seismic sensor.

The results showed that the inner core (also known as the inner core, the innermost part of the Earth) contained a single core, about half as small. Iron crystals belong to the outer layer of the inner core arranged in the north-south direction. However, its core contains iron crystals arranged in the east-west direction.

"The inner core is smaller than the Moon, but it has some interesting characteristics. It tells us how to form Earth, history and other geodynamic processes, and shape our understanding. About what's happening deep in the ground, " Science Daily quoted Professor Xiaodong Song as saying.

Previously, the Earth's inner core was once considered a solid iron ball, bearing complex structural properties.
