Global Seismology (Global Seismology) Paula Koelemeijer working at Oxford University (UK) discovered this when receiving unusual seismic signals from earthquakes.

By studying signals from large earthquakes, in particular the shape and speed of seismic waves, the researchers discovered that the Earth's magnetic field is changing.
