Nathan Greenaway, 33, passed out and was admitted to the hospital in September. After 5 days of testing and analysis, doctors could not determine what happened. Greenaway died on September 7 after being diagnosed with multiple organ failure.
After the incident, Greenaway's father spent a lot of time understanding the cause of his son's death. He believed that Greenaway was exposed to a sapling, a poisonous plant. The sapling tree, Aconitum, also known as the oyster tree, is grown in a garden where Greenaway works.
According to the Telegraph, in terms of exposure in the place of growing the apples, gardeners are very susceptible to poisoning without using gloves. The poison from violet flowers will cause vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, heart palpitations, severe cases that will cause paralysis of the heart and respiratory tract. Some researchers say toxins can affect Greenaway's internal organs activity in just a few hours.
Poisoning by saplings is quite rare and often occurs when they are digested or held, touching when there are no gloves. In 2004, a Canadian actor once died after accidentally eating this plant when camping.
