Discover the oldest stars in the universe?
Astronomers have discovered an ancient galaxy formed since the new universe was born. In it, there are very bright stars that have existed for more than 13 billion years. They are extremely rare and can help science better explain how the universe has formed, according to the Daily Mail.

Ancient galaxies were discovered by a group of scientists led by Dr. David Dobral, of the University of Lisbon (Portugal). They used a huge telescope (VLT) in Chile to find this ultra-bright galaxy and named it CR7 .
The VLT telescope is a combination of 4 modern telescopes arranged in a fixed structure. The glass is built and operated by the European Space Research Organization in the Southern Hemisphere (ESO), located in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.
Many of the stars in CR7 act after the Big Bang only a few hundred million years. Scientists classify these stars as Population III , which is the original mass of massive stars formed after the Big Bang. They can weigh more than 300 solar masses.
This is considered an important discovery because scientists expect the CR7 study and ancient stars to help explain the existence of stars and planets today.
