Discovered 41 new planets

Astronomers have discovered 41 new planets, bringing the total number of planets discovered and confirmed in the Universe to nearly 800.

Forty-one new planets were discovered published in two separate studies after scientists analyzed data from the Kepler space telescope of the US Space Agency (NASA). Until now, the Kepler telescope has discovered and confirmed 115 planets and nearly 800 planets confirmed by astronomers to exist in the universe.

'Newly discovered planets are published in two different studies at the same time. Very rarely, 27 new planets were discovered and confirmed in a study , 'said Dr. Jason Steffen at the Fermilab Center for Astrophysical Research (USA) and the first of 1 in 2 studies, giving know on Live Science.

Dr. Jason Steffen and colleagues discovered 27 new planets in 13 different star systems, while 24 new planets left five of the 12 star systems discovered and confirmed in a study by Dr. Jiwei Xie. and colleagues at the University of Toronto (Canada). Both studies used data from the Kepler space telescope.

'This new discovery gives us more information about planetary interactions and a better understanding of the position of Earth and the Solar System in the overall system of stars discovered and confirmed so far. One point worth noting is that the number of planets in the Solar System currently accounts for only 1% of the total number of planets in the universe that we have discovered , 'said Dr Jason Steffen.

Kepler Space Telescope confirms new planets in the universe by measuring light from a parent star passing through that planet. This method requires a lot of time to monitor and need ground equipment to more thoroughly analyze this telescope data.

The main task of the Kepler space telescope, worth about $ 600 million, is to search for Earth-like planets - located in a position where liquid and life-like water can exist. our.
