Discovered a giant black hole never seen in the universe

NASA said that American astronomers have discovered a giant black hole of at least 24 times the mass of the Sun in the constellation Cassiopeia. This discovery broke the record that scientists announced on October 17 related to a black hole with a mass 16 times the Sun in the galaxy M33.

Black holes suck all material and are so massive that light cannot escape them. Astrophysicists detect black holes by measuring their gravitational pull on nearby materials and the radiation they emit.

The new black hole is found near the IC 10 dwarf galaxy 18 million light years from Earth. It belongs to a group of black holes formed after the death of giant stars with a mass 10 times the Sun.

" We did not expect to find such a big black hole ," said Andrea Prestwich, a astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge (Massachussetts, USA). Prestwich led this study with NASA's Chandra X-Ray space telescope.

The researchers measured the mass of this giant black hole with a very hot star beside it. This star releases spiral gases that spiral up to the black hole and emit intense X-rays before being swallowed .
