Does human consciousness exist when the head leaves the neck?

Stories from the last century show that the head leaving the body can still blink, change facial expressions, even try to make a voice.

>>>How do people survive after being beheaded?
>>> The amazing truth about a dead-end man is still alive

During the French revolution, the executioner once kept the top cut off of Charlotte Corday (Jean-Paul Marat's politician assassin) high and slapped her cheek. Many witnesses confirmed Corday's eyes to look at the executioner with an angry expression.

In 1989, a military veteran saw his best friend losing his head in a car accident. However, the detached head is said to still have a shocking, horrifying, painful expression, and the eyes glanced at the body.

Many doctors believe that the ability to manifest after beheading is very unlikely. At the time of decapitation, the brain suffered a sharp decrease in blood pressure, the head quickly lost blood and lack of oxygen. The brain enters a deep coma, although it may take several seconds for death to arrive.

However, some recent studies on animals have led many people to believe in these stories. In 2011, Dutch scientists attached an EEG (EEG) to the brains of the beheaded mice.

Accordingly, they still detect electrical impulses in the mouse brain area, conscious activity continues for about 4 seconds. Smaller animals with breasts even have longer time. If this happens in humans, a few seconds of it are enough time for them to get around.

However, the legend of the clogged heads talking may be simply the body's reflexive action . Like severed limbs, muscle contraction, brain reflexes in the extrapyramidal system (the part of the nervous system that controls motor activity) also creates an unconscious expression on the face like fear, disgust and contempt.
