Dogs stuck in the treetops for cat chasing

Firefighters must set up ladders to climb up to rescue the dog, while the cat jumps down itself safely.

The incident occurred when Sharon Thurston took Baby, a 2-year-old German shepherd dog, walking in California, USA, Fox 5 reported yesterday. Baby ran away without Thurston noticing. When she heard the bark, she realized it was in a difficult situation.

Baby chasing a cat to the top of the tree. It stands on a height of about 7.6m, cannot climb down itself."I was so scared. Baby is like my baby and is everything to me. When I look up, I'm afraid it will fall," Thurston shared.

She asked neighbors for help and someone suggested calling the fire department. The firefighters were very surprised."That's not the call you receive every day," said firefighter Marty Ortiz.

Upon arriving, Ortiz saw the dog still standing on the branch, at the end was a cat. He and his colleagues immediately embarked on the rescue."We set up the ladder and climbed up. I immediately grabbed the dog's leash. The rope was caught in a tree branch," recalls Ortiz.

As soon as the fireman group rescued Baby, the cat jumped off itself safely."The cat keeps running around and upsetting Baby , " Thurston said. She also said that the dog was perfectly healthy.

"I'm glad to see everything with the dog is good. We are sure that the next time he will think carefully when he wants to chase the cat up the tree," the fire department representative commented.

Cats have the ability to climb very high places. Their body structure is suitable for climbing. They have strong backs and hind legs, which help build momentum for the body to jump. In the wild, tall trees are a good place for cats to observe their prey. It is also a safe hiding place, helping them to protect themselves from dangerous predators.
