Egypt is the source of E.coli outbreaks?

The origin of E. coli outbreaks in Germany and France may be from seeds originating in Egypt, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said.

Translations in Germany can come from seeds imported from Egypt in 2010. The outbreaks in the Bordeaux region of France also involve seeds. It was the English seeds imported from Egypt and then resold to France in 2009. A French company confirmed, their suppliers imported seeds from Egypt. E.coli outbreaks have infected more than 4,000 people in Germany, of which 48 died.

According to ECDC and the European Food Safety Agency, while their investigation of E. coli outbreaks is not complete, consumers should not eat sprouts unless they are cooked.
