In the recent issue of the journal Science, Karen McComb, an animal language expert, and colleagues at the University of Sussex, said that elephants are very good animals, allowing they can easily recognize all the " familiar faces " and are absolutely wary of strangers.

The team spent nearly seven years surveying 21 elephants in Amboseli National Park, Kenya, and said that over time, the head elephants formed a strange memory capacity.

When approaching a stranger, based on the smell or the cries of the object, the ' female leader ' will quickly identify it as a friend or foe. If the first elephant does not recognize, the whole elephant family will stand together to protect the elephants.

Elephants often have a habit of eating far away and living in matriarchy, the family is usually only . female. Male elephants often leave the herd early, live alone or form a ' single association ' of other male elephants as lonely as it is.
