Scientists call for conservation of Vietnamese elephants

The number of elephants is declining rapidly, scientists believe that if there is no timely solution, the elephant will remain in memory.

At the seminar 'How to conserve the elephant species in Vietnam from the danger of extinction' organized by Xua magazine and now with the relevant unit, the researchers have raised a warning and called for directions. to preserve the dwindling elephant species in Vietnam.

The historian Duong Trung Quoc and his colleagues conducted a survey along the Central Highlands provinces, they witnessed many tragic fate of elephant houses in Dak Lak.

Survey results show that, since 1985, the number of elephants has decreased to 9/10. If in 1985 it was more than 500 children, by 2011, the number of elephants was only 52. But these elephants are also in a state of exhausted health, killed by cutting their tails, ivory saws, stealing feathers for sale.
