The storm named Dean forced NASA to shorten the space travel of space shuttle astronauts Endeavor, returning to Earth earlier than expected.

The US space agency worries that if Typhoon Dean turns toward the Texas coast, it could affect Houston's control center area.

The last space walk was canceled within 2 hours, so travelers must prepare for their return on Tuesday (August 21, 2007). This is 24 hours earlier than planned.

Endeavor's mission, planned for 14 days, is to continue to assemble the international space station (ISS) and collect data on research.

NASA has just decided that the hole in Endeavor's abdomen will not be repaired before it returns to Earth.
